What an amazing six weeks it’s been with our Year 1 Pair Class at Forest School! 🌳 Today we’ve made magical forest wands, dream catchers, and spent lots of time bug hunting and playing with our woodland soft toys. πŸžπŸƒ To top it all off, we finished with a campfire session where we made our own doughnuts—so delicious! 🍩πŸ”₯ The children have been a fantastic group, and it’s been a joy to watch them explore, learn, and have fun in nature. Can’t wait for more forest adventures ahead!

Week 6 Elm class campfire doughnuts

πŸŒ³πŸŽƒ What an amazing final Forest School session with our Year 4 Elm Class! After six weeks of exploring and learning, we kicked off today’s session with a pumpkin hunt. But these pumpkins had a twist—each one had a question on the back! The children shared their favourite parts of the Forest School site, discussing the best food we’ve cooked, talking about holiday plans, skills that they have learnt and naming their favourite animals, and even trying to name different trees and bugs! πŸžπŸ•·️ After lots of creative stick play, building mini habitats, and crafting magical forest wands, and dream catchers we wrapped it up with a real treat—campfire doughnuts! 🍩πŸ”₯ For many, it was a new experience, and it was so rewarding to see the children try food they’d never had before. A perfect end to an unforgettable adventure in the great outdoors!

Week 5 ( final) Elm class clay

What a wonderful final Forest School session for the children in Elm class today! 🌿 We started off the morning identifying leaves with an identification chart and managed to pinpoint four or five different trees. Afterward, we played a thrilling Fire Circle game of Dragons and Knights, which really put everyone's listening skills to the test! πŸ‘‚  The creativity continued with clay sculptures, and some of the girls even treated themselves to a little "spa" time by applying clay to their faces. We played several rounds of Manhunt, and a special shout-out goes to one of the girls who brought in her own halloumi to toast on the fire—alongside our popcorn, thanks to Miss Walker, who kept the fire going with resilience and skill! πŸ”₯ πŸ’ͺ  This was the last session for this fantastic group as the children will not be in school next Friday. What an incredible time we’ve had—thank you all for making it so memorable!

This afternoon, our Year One Pear Tree Class had a blast at Forest School! Some of our adventurous little ones chose to roll down the field to make their way to the session—what a fun start! 🀸‍♀️πŸƒ We got super creative squishing clay and making wonderful sculptures. After all that hard work, we enjoyed popcorn cooked over the fire 🍿πŸ”₯, and the new hammock was a big hit! The kids loved swinging, chatting, and catching up with friends, sharing all their exciting stories about life in Year 1.  We also learned about the importance of putting out the fire safely. Each child took turns putting a drop of water on the fire to help extinguish it, learning how we care for our environment. Such a cozy afternoon full of fun and learning!   πŸ˜ŠπŸŒ²

This morning, our Year Four adventurers in Elm Class had a fantastic time at Forest School! We kicked off the session with a leaf identification challenge and, of course, lots of jumping in muddy puddles! 🌧️πŸ‚ Next, we gathered around the fire circle for a game where we had to listen carefully for the dragon and the night πŸ‰. Then, we got creative with clay, making all sorts of amazing creatures! And as always, there were plenty of energetic games of manhunt πŸƒ‍♂️πŸƒ‍♀️. A big shoutout to the two resilient girls who helped light the fire πŸ”₯. They did an incredible job, and we all enjoyed some delicious hot apple squash made with the Kelly kettle and even cooked some popcorn over the fire  To wrap up the morning, we made a circle of trust using a large rope, reminding ourselves of the importance of teamwork and friendship. What a brilliant session! Great job, Elm Class! πŸ‘πŸ’š

Today, Elm Class had an action-packed Forest School session filled with exciting activities! We practiced our whittling skills using peelers to safely carve sticks, and later gathered around the fire to toast brioche, halloumi, and rosemary—delicious! The class also had a blast playing 50-50 and Manhunt, burning off plenty of energy before turning to creative projects like making Paracord bracelets and building some awesome dens. We ended our day with calming fire circle listening games, taking in the sounds of nature and reflecting on a fantastic day outdoors.
