Week 5 ( final) Elm class clay

 What a wonderful final Forest School session for the children in Elm class today! 🌿 We started off the morning identifying leaves with an identification chart and managed to pinpoint four or five different trees. Afterward, we played a thrilling Fire Circle game of Dragons and Knights, which really put everyone's listening skills to the test! 👂 

The creativity continued with clay sculptures, and some of the girls even treated themselves to a little "spa" time by applying clay to their faces. We played several rounds of Manhunt, and a special shout-out goes to one of the girls who brought in her own halloumi to toast on the fire—alongside our popcorn, thanks to Miss Walker, who kept the fire going with resilience and skill! 🔥 💪 

This was the last session for this fantastic group as the children will not be in school next Friday. What an incredible time we’ve had—thank you all for making it so memorable!

Week 4 Elm class acorns

 Today, Elm Class had an exciting time at Forest School! We kicked things off by hunting for acorns and learning a fun science fact—if they sink in water, they’re good to plant; if they float, not so much! The kids were eager to test their acorns and see which ones would grow into mighty oaks. We also got crafty by making colorful Paracord bracelets, and, of course, there was lots of running around. Star Wars games brought extra energy to the day, with the children channeling their inner Jedi! As a perfect end to our outdoor adventure, we built a fantastic fire. Everyone gathered around to roast halloumi with rosemary and toasted brioche—a delicious treat that capped off a day of learning and fun in nature. Forest School days are the best! 🌲 ❤️

Week 4 Elm class high five game/manhunt

  Today, Elm Class had an action-packed Forest School session filled with exciting activities! We practiced our whittling skills using peelers to safely carve sticks, and later gathered around the fire to toast brioche, halloumi, and rosemary—delicious! The class also had a blast playing 50-50 and Manhunt, burning off plenty of energy before turning to creative projects like making Paracord bracelets and building some awesome dens. We ended our day with calming fire circle listening games, taking in the sounds of nature and reflecting on a fantastic day outdoors.

Week 3 Pear class Group 1 windy

What an exciting windy afternoon we had watching the rain whist sheltering under the canopy.  We used palm drills to put holes in conkers, jumped in puddles and hunted for firewood. Towards the end of the session it was so windy the children were amazing at helping take down the canopy. We looked at how the boat clutches worked and were able to let the rope go and unhook  the canopy eyelet whilst holding on in the wind! We finished the session by learning a new gross motor game - Giants, Wizards and Dwarfs!
