Week 1 Apple class

  Apple Class's First Ever Forest School Session! What an incredible morning we had with our wonderful Year 3 Apple Class, enjoying their very first Forest School session! The excitement was buzzing as we headed towards the welly boot sheds to get ready. Once we were all geared up, we sat on the wall and talked through our very important Forest School rules: Don’t pick, don’t lick, watch your stick, look for bugs but don’t make them sick! The children were brilliant at remembering and reciting them back. As we got ready, one of the children spotted some blue tits flying in and out of a bird box up in a tree in Wonderland. We all paused to watch them for a few peaceful moments—what a lovely way to start our morning! There was a lot of enthusiasm as the children ran down to the Forest School site. Week 6 Ash

  This morning, Ash Class took part in their final Forest School session, and the weather definitely had that Spring like vibe it was bright and breezy, perfect for an outdoor adventure! We started our journey by collecting soil to use later for making seed bombs. On the way down, the children searched the field for natural materials to build bird nests. They were fascinated by a huge patch of moss and imagined how incredible it must be for birds to travel up to 700 miles while building their nests—using only their beaks and feet! Gathering in the Forest School circle, we checked in with our nature names and had a great discussion about birds, their different nesting styles, and the variety of eggs they lay depending on their habitat. Then came the exciting Easter Egg Hunt! Scattered around the woodland were numbered eggs, each featuring either a UK bird or an egg. The challenge? To match them correctly—not as easy as it sounds!
