Pear class week 4 bird feeders
Pear Tree Class Forest School Fun!
This afternoon, our Year One Pear tree Class braved the chilly weather for an exciting Forest School session!
We started our adventure by wandering down to the Forest School site, collecting sticks along the way for a Christmas craft project we’ll be working on next week. While we didn’t sit around the fire circle for long (too excited to start our activities!), we packed so much into our afternoon:
π Birdfeeders – We made birdfeeders using birdseed, lard, and giant pinecones to help our feathered friends this winter.
π Woodcraft Decorations – Using a bow saw, we cut our own wooden cookies and hammered small nails into them to create beautiful Christmas decorations.
π Fire Treats – The highlight of the afternoon was gathering around the fire to watch popcorn popping! Hot chocolate and marshmallows were the perfect treat to warm us up and end the day. The children spontaneously started practising their Christmas songs for our show at the theatre!
What a creative and festive afternoon! Well done, Pear Tree Class—you showed great resilience and enthusiasm despite the cold, and your Christmas songs sounded amazing!
