Beech class week 4 bird feeders
This morning, Year One Beech tree Class had an exciting and busy time at Forest School!
We began our journey down to the Forest School site, walking around the edge of the field and collecting small twigs for a Christmas decoration project we’ll be working on next week. Once we arrived, we gathered around the fire circle to play games, chat about the weather, and explore the changing seasons and trees around us.
Then, the real fun began!π Birdfeeders – We got hands-on making birdfeeders using lard, birdseed, and gigantic pinecones. A curious robin joined us while we were working, inspiring us to work even quicker to help our feathered friends.
π Woodworking & Decorations – The children tried their hands at sawing wood and using stubby hammers to hammer nails. They then wrapped wool around their creations to make beautiful Christmas tree decorations.
π Fire Fun – For the first time, we enjoyed a real fire, and the excitement was palpable as we listened to the popcorn popping over the flames! To top it all off, we warmed up with hot chocolate and a biscuit—a perfect treat on such a crisp, clear day.
It was a magical and very busy morning under the bright blue sky. Well done, Beech tree Class, for your creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm!
