Week 1 Pear class Group 1 - blackberries
This afternoon Pear class were so excited to finally take part in Forest School . I really enjoyed spending time with them again! We started playing duck duck goose to help us try and remember the fire circle safety rules. We learnt how to use the mallets to hammer in hazard flags, we really explored the new site looking at all the things that we need to be careful of. We found brambles, stinging nettles, badger holes, tree stumps, even some fox poo! We enjoyed blackberry picking and then mashing up the berries in some hot water to make a natural food dye. We experimented with different types of white fabric, elastic bands and string to make patterns on the white fabric dipping in the blackberry juice to tie-dye! We made mini dens for the soft toys and some of the children even made godseyes. We found a shield beetle lots of woodlouse and a very wiggly spider!
